Brian Bonnar PPS started his career in the security and law enforcement fields in 1991 upon his graduation from Northeastern University’s School of Business Management. He was hired as a deputy sheriff with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and served on SERT (Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team). During this time, Brian moonlighted as Director of Security for Lyons Entertainment Group, managing security operations for Boston’s largest nightclub venue. He also worked as an executive protection specialist for Burns International Security Services (now Securitas), serving on protective details for FDIC officials who were liquidating Boston-area banking institutions.

In 1994, Brian left the Sheriff’s Department to pursue a career in business, selling enterprise software solutions to Fortune 500 companies. This position enabled him to build long-term business relationships with C-level executives in order to understand their business needs and develop appropriate technology solutions. In this role, Brian was responsible for bringing in millions of dollars in revenue each year for his employers, and prioritizing and managing complex sales cycles and multi-functional project teams. During this time, Brian was promoted to manage Western US operations for a Boston-based software company and relocated to San Francisco in 1998.

After the horrendous events of September 11, 2001, Brian decided he needed to provide more value to his country and community than selling software.  He decided to go back into law enforcement after an eight year hiatus, and Brian and his wife Roseann relocated to her hometown of Seattle, where he was hired by the King County Sheriff’s Office.  After several years as a patrol deputy using community policing and problem-solving tools to identify and address chronic problems, Brian joined the Special Emphasis Team as a narcotics detective managing complex narcotics investigations. This gave him an opportunity to hone his skills in surveillance and counter-surveillance ops, intelligence gathering through electronic and human assets, tactical special ops missions, and complex criminal case preparation for prosecution. He also served in protective security details for visiting heads of state and dignitaries, and moonlighted as an independent contractor providing executive protection services for domestic and international high-net-worth executives.

Brian left King County in 2010 to pursue his dream of being a business owner and founded Shield Solutions, LLC, a security consulting firm specializing in executive protection, threat assessments, and investigative services. Brian and Roseann live in the Seattle area with their two young sons, Jackson and Dillon, and adventurous yellow Lab, Titus. They spend their spare time skiing and snowboarding, hiking, camping, and fishing.
